Effects of Online Live Pilates Training during the COVID-19 Pandemic on Body Composition, Cardiovascular Function, and Physical Fitness in Sedentary Middle-aged Obese Women

PURPOSE This study aimed to investigate how a 10-week online live Pilates training held during the COVID-19 pandemic affected body composition, cardiovascular function, and physical fitness in sedentary middle-aged obese women. METHODS Thirty women, aged 30 49 years (BMI : 25kg/m<sup>2</sup> or more; waist circumference: 85cm more) who were leading lifestyle for more than 8 hours day assigned one of two groups—that is, group (TR) control (CON). Four participants dropped from intervention period. Participants TR (<i>n</i>=13) performed mat exercises (3 sessions per week; 60 minutes session 10 weeks, whereas CON asked maintain their normal lifestyles same Independent variables related venous function lower body, fitness, 1-RM (repetition maximum) measured at pre-test post-test, data compared between groups tests. RESULTS 1) Regarding weight, mass index, fat mass, circumference decreased significantly group. 2) stroke volume cardiac output increased group, total peripheral resistance 3) blood flow velocity parenchyma area 4) cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular flexibility, balance improved 5) 1RM biceps curl, lat pull-down, leg extension CONCLUSIONS It was concluded that had positive effects on women lifestyles.
